The Grand Prix of Hungary beat its record with 250,000 spectators


The Hungarian Grand Prix Formula 1, won on Sunday by the Finnish Heikki Kovalainen, brought together a record number of 250,000 people at the Hungaroring circuit, said on Tuesday the spokesman for the Hungarian government.


"He has broken all records in terms of attendance, with a quarter of a million spectators, which means moving from 10 to 15% compared to last year," said the spokesman, David Daroczi.


The influx of visitors to the Hungarian capital also meant to be completely covering the hotel offer three, four and five stars.


Located just twenty kilometres from the Hungarian capital, the Hungaroring circuit, which hosted its first Grand Prix in 1986, routinely involves large amount of the public because it has very good visibility in most parts of the route.


The World Formula 1 returns on August 24 with the dispute in Valencia Grand Prix of Europe.
