College Basketball Betting: Kansas, Missouri Eye Rematch in Big 12 Tournament

NCAA Basketball PredictionsWith two teams in the top-five, and three in the top-12, all eyes will be on the Big 12 this weekend as some of the most complete teams in the nation fight for the right to call themselves the best in their respective conferences. The No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks outlasted the No. 5 Missouri Tigers and No. 12 Baylor Bears throughout the course of the Big 12 season to earn the top seed heading in to the conference title tournament, but with so much talent at the top, and a handful of teams that have proven that they are capable of providing a sports betting picks upset, there are no guarantees about how the Big 12 title tournament will play out.

Any talk about the Big 12 this season has to begin and end with the top-ranked team in the conference in Kansas, which won three of four games against Missouri and Baylor combined, and didn’t lose a home game in conference play. The Jayhawks actually trailed by 19 points in their most recent meeting against the Tigers after losing the first game between those teams this season, but a dramatic comeback at the Allen Fieldhouse completely changed how the conference outlook would play out. The tournament bracket will only allow Kansas and Missouri to meet again in the finals, so getting to the final will mean that both team’s have to find their way there against determined per head competition.

While the Jayhawks have provided every reason for fans to feel confident that they will at least get to the Big 12 title game, the picture is a little different for Missouri. The Tigers lost both of their games against the unranked Kansas State Wildcats before dropping their final game against Kansas, but thankfully for them the Wildcats are actually on the Jayhawks’ side of the bracket. Baylor’s awful finish to the Big 12 season allowed Iowa State to creep up to the third seed in the tournament, and considering Missouri won both meetings against the Cyclones by at least six points, that should provide them with a significant edge. The Tigers will also have strong support from their fans, and should be able to take advantage of the favorable draw.

That doesn’t mean the road is any tougher for Kansas, as the draw actually worked in their favor as well. The Jayhawks had their way with both the Bears and Wildcats this season, and should be prepared for whatever is thrown their way. Thomas Robinson is right up there with Kentucky’s Anthony Davis as one of the top-ranked player’s in the nation, and should be itching for the opportunity to show off his skills on the biggest stage according to the sportsbook reviews.

Considering that the top-five seeds in the tournament are all locks to make the March Madness betting tournament, there isn’t a whole lot there in terms of bubble teams looking to make a final stab at the national title tournament. The only team with a slim chance of getting in is the Texas Longhorns, and they could have hope in that they split their two meetings against Iowa State during the Big 12 season, which is the team that they will meet in the opening round. Texas would then play a Missouri team that they lost to by just one point at home so there is some reason for hope, but expectations should be tempered and the focus should remain on the top seeds when breaking down this Big 12 tournament.
