The 30-year-old is currently a free agent after his contract with English club Watford ended this summer. DeMerit was part of the US team that reached the second round of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
DeMerit's agent, Andrew Evans, says that his client has been offered contracts by a number of clubs in Europe and adds that he will decide only after he returns from his holiday in about two weeks' time.
"He has offers from all over Europe, but there's nothing that I can talk about right now," Evans said, according to MLSsoccer.com.
"He won't be making a decision until he's back from holiday in about two weeks."
Newly promoted Premier League club Blackpool, former Champions League semi-finalists Leeds United and Championship side Sheffield United have been linked with the centre-back.
