2011 US MNT Player of the Year: Clint Dempsey

Earlier this week, Clint Dempsey was recognized as the Futbol de Primera U.S. national team player of the year award for the second time. Dempsey previously won the award in 2006 as well. This year, Dempsey has 4 goals for the US MNT in 11 appearances, and 5 goals in all competitions for Fulham FC. His goal last week against Wigan Athletic left him tied with Brian McBride for most goals in the English Premier League at 36. Tim Howard finished 2nd, followed by Landon Donovan in 3rd in this year's voting. The award was formerly known as the Honda player of the year.
