Top Football News - UEFA released the 12 names entered as a candidate winning the European Club Player of the Year award (UEFA Club Footballer of the Year) in which the winner will be announced in conjunction with the Champions League draw in Monaco.
12 candidates nominated for the award entered in each position and overall awards, where three players designated as strong candidates for each category of the goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and best striker.
Nominations were determined by the coaches of the 16 teams that reached the Champions League knockout round from 2009 to 2010. Each coach has an opportunity to select individual positions is also an award voted for a name that will be the Player of the Year in 2010.
Here are the names of the candidates winning the UEFA Player of the Year award in 2010:
Best goalkeeper:
Julio Cesar (Internazionale Milano FC)
Hugo Lloris (Olympique Lyonnais)
Víctor Valdes (FC Barcelona)
Best defender:
Lucio (FC Internazionale Milano)
Maicon (Internazionale Milano FC)
Gerard Pique (Barcelona FC)

Best Striker:
