Studio 90 News Update

US Falls to England: Highlights, Post-Conference, and Recaps

I just finished watching the game. I had to download it and watched the BBC version. The commentator said it perfectly by saying that we are simply ordinary. I won't comment too much on it as this isn't the purpose of the blog, but average would be a good word to sum us up. Most of our players played okay for most of the game and then went away for a couple of minutes. Gooch is a perfect example who had a good game but was caught ball watching on Gerrard's goal. It's hard to play with 10 men (read: Wolff was playing?) especially when Eddie who was better as the game progressed couldn't hold the ball. You simply aren't going to win when you have to defend for 80 minutes of the game. Say what you want about the Yank-Who-Should-Be-Abroad (Landycakes), but we lacked a lot of pace and creativity without him. Having said that, these games are important and we didn't embarrass ourselves against one of the best teams in the world. This is the only way we will progress. On a positive note, there were 1,300 US fans in the crowd. Wouldn't have had that many 10 years ago. Enough of my thoughts - the articles and videos are why you are here.
