Alex Rodriguez will have Surgery, out 6 to 9 Weeks

Alex Rodriguez will be on Monday at an arthroscopic surgery on his hip, but is expected to return to play with the New York Yankees during the regular season after a recovery would take six to nine weeks.

Rodriguez suffered a tear of the labrum and a cyst in the right hip. The cyst was drained on Wednesday, and Friday toletero was submitted to new tests to measure the strength and flexibility of the hip.

The diagnosis of Dr. Marc Philippon, who served in the state of Colorado, was another blow to Rodriguez in a tumultuous period of one month in which the three times winner of the MVP confessed to having used steroids from 2001-03, when played with the Rangers in Texas.

Philippon participated in a teleconference with the Yankees manager Brian Cashman. Philippon, a renowned specialist, will be responsible for the operation.

Philippon expressed hope that an estimated 85-90%, Rodriguez can play in the regular season.

I am fully convinced that this well and will enable Alex to return to play, Philippon said. We had very good success with this procedure. In the short term, we feel that the risk is limited and could return to the labrum tear in a period of six to seven months.

The Yankees had expressed hope that their third baseman could see action, without need for surgery, with a recovery period of rest and rehabilitation. This surgery does not completely heal the hip. Further surgery entailed an absence of three to four months.

The operation now will be to repair the tear of the labrum and shorten their rehabilitation, said Cashman. Then at the end of the season, will operate as needed.

Rodriguez is in the second season of his contract by 10 years and $ 275 million, which should have strongly influenced the final decision. His physical condition prevented him from going to the World Baseball Classic, which was scheduled to play with the Dominican Republic.

Philippon attributed to stress at tear of the hip rotation that causes Rodriguez, whom he described with a very strong hitter.

Because all the results, analysis and response to Alex, I believe that the best thing for him is the labrum surgery, removing part of the impact area and then stabilize the labrum, he said. The aim is to enable Alex to recover quickly from a safe manner.

Rodriguez will soon be staying in Colorado.

Alex will be with us during the first few weeks, Philippon said. The main objective is a rapid rehabilitation ... We will discuss with Alex twice a day.

Rodriguez could swing a bat with seven days after the operation.

On Thursday, the player's brother, Joe Dunand, had to operate and that recovery would take 10 weeks. The same day, however, Cashman indicated that he would try to avoid the operation.

David Beckham is ready to give up a mountain of money to stay with Milan, said on Saturday the Italian club's director Adriano Galliani who negotiates an agreement with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

All the players express their affection for the club, but few have demonstrated this by giving up a mountain of money. Beckham is one of those, Galliani said at Milan's television channel.

Mario Balotelli scored the second to 61 minutes, which put an end to the faint hopes of Genoa, who sought to withdraw from their course at least a tie.

Although attacked Genoa in the second half, Inter are not locked in your area to defend the victory, but continued to attack, except only in the final quarter hour.

The attacker Genoa's Argentinian Diego Milito was one of the most dangerous men, but failed to overcome the resistance of the defense of their interest and excellent goalkeeper, Brazilian Julio Cesar.

The nerazzurri had anyway the reins of the meeting by the 27th day of the Italian League.

Inter leads the Italian championship with 63 points, followed by Juventus with 56, won 1-0 at home in the classic with Torino.

Juventus had serious difficulties imposed on their historic adversary, and he made it only to 80 minutes with a headed goal from defender Giorgio Chiellini.

However, the Vecchia Signora had other opportunities to move forward, which prevented the Torino goalkeeper Matteo Sereni, the best of his team.

Torino remained with 24 points, very close to the reversal of the Serie B.

UFC 96 betting lines - Rampage, Jardine may Underestimate Each Other

The UFC 96 Betting lines are posted, the fighters' training is complete, and the Jackson vs Jardine odds are approaching rapidly. This weekend in the UFC 96 betting lines, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (29-7) battles Keith "the Dean of Mean" Jardine (14-5-1) in a battle of upper-tier light heavyweights in MMA betting.

Offshore sportsbook lines have Jackson as a -300 favorite over Jardine (+240). Strangely enough, online betting fans could argue that Jackson should be a bigger favorite or that Jardine should be less of an underdog. Overall, that likely means the lines are right, but here's my logic:

While Jardine isn't the world-class fighter Jackson is, and he did get his clock cleaned in under a minute by both Wanderelei Silva (who Jackson demolished) and Houston Alexander, his greatest success has come against counterpunchers (Forrest Griffin, Chuck Liddell). Since Jackson is counterpuncher, Jardine is actually an awkward matchup for him. Rampage, who reportedly turned down a title shot against Rashad Evans so he could first battle Jardine in a UFC betting "tuneup," should be careful not to look past Jardine.

On the other hand, Jardine can't just lump Jackson in with Griffin and Liddell, neither of whom was in his prime when Jardine beat him (Griffin wasn't there yet, Liddell was past his prime). Jackson is still at or close to the top of his game and he's smart enough to know that Jardine will be expecting a counterpunch performance from him in the Jackson vs Jardine odds . Jackson may therefore change his strategy and walk forward on Jardine. It's a good risk to take, since Jardine lacks knockout power and likely won't catch Jackson with a devastating blow.

Milan is Close to Reaching an Agreement to Beckham Stay until June

Adriano Galliani, Milan's director, said the club is close to reaching an agreement to extend the loan of David Beckham until the end of the Italian season, but said that has not yet been completed.

The wheel came to English in Milan in January on a loan for two months from the Los Angeles Galaxy, and had to return to MLS U.S. next week.

However, Beckham wants to stay in Italy, and Galliani said that both sides are close to reaching an agreement for the midfielder to stay at Milan until the summer.

The agreement is not official. We are working on the possibility of a loan until June 30 but not yet reached agreement, Galliani said before boarding a plane to compete in a friendly match in Qatar, according to the website of Milan.

Beckham has a contract for five years with the Galaxy with a value of $ 32.5 million.

We are drawing closer to agreement, Galliani said at Milan's television channel on Monday evening. I hope we can accomplish to stay on loan at least until June 30. Could then return to Los Angeles and rejoin us in January.

Are unaware of the economic details of the proposal, but the Galaxy had requested $ 10 million for the purchase of Beckham final. The Italian team said it would pay no more than 3 million, as the midfielder would be available after the MLS season.

That is what we seek, Galliani said. It is complicated, as they always knew, but we keep trying.

Beckham wants to stay in Milan to improve their chances of being in the selection at the next British World Cup. He has played 11 games with the Italian club, including nine in the series and was held in all.

It has become a very important player, but now is a little exhausted, he added Galliani.

Lazio beat Bologna 2-0

The attacker returned to the Argentine Mauro Zarate gol after more than two months to convert a double that allowed the andalusia Lazio beat Bologna 2-0 yesterday in the Olympic stadium in Rome.

The first goal was a flawless free kick at 36 minutes and the second a soft touch when it came to face the door to 81 '.

Lazio, playing at home, was clearly superior to one who came to Bologna to leave Rome in accordance with a draw without goals. For this reason, only defended himself and the first action was a danger of a head of Bologna's Uruguayan defender Diego Rodriguez, the 32 minutes.

Uruguayan goalkeeper for Lazio, Fernando Muslera, had very little work, while his colleague from Bologna, Francesco Antonioli, was demanded. However, responded with Muslera security had to intervene when.

Meanwhile, in another advance of the twenty-sixth of the contest date, Juventus beat Napoli 1-0 at home with a lucky goal from Claudio Marchisio, and fell six points to the distance from the leader Inter Milan, in the Italian Serie A soccer.

The only goal in a very disputed first time, was somewhat fortunate, since the shooting Marchisio could have stayed in the hands of Argentine goalkeeper Nicolas Navarro, but the midfielder Manuele Blasi touched the ball inadvertently and disconcerted andalusia guardavallas (44 ).

The second half was played at a slower pace, but there were times for both the marker and did not move. Even the Argentinian Ezequiel Lavezzi scored a goal that was nullified by off-side of Fabio Cannavaro and defense on the final.

Before, this Saturday, with a doublet of Argentine Mauro Zarate (36, 81), Lazio (7) defeated Bologna (17th) 2-0.

The Italian team have suffered a black weeks in European competitions.

In the last two seasons, the Inter-Roma is considered the major shock of the "calcium", but things have changed since the whole of the capital, runner today is only sixth in the table and now has 16 points less than the Champion Inter.

But it was still important to the game at the stadium in San Siro for Inter. Five days after his tie as host of Manchester United (0-0) hopes to keep pace at the top of Serie A.

The AS Roma, which can be considered fortunate not to have lost by a more bulky marker to Arsenal in London (1-0) will seek revenge from the first round, when he was crushed by 4-0. This is closer to its goal of fourth place.

But the most disappointing team of the week was undoubtedly the AC Milan. UEFA was his great goal and it was not before the end of the sixteenth of Werder Bremen (1-1, 2-2) to tie left at home on Thursday when he was winning 2-0.

Distance in the classification, also eliminated Cup in Italy, and can only aspire to the second installment of the series, which ranks directly for the next Champions League. On Sunday he travels to Genoa to measure the Sampdoria (14th), another team eliminated from the UEFA Cup on Thursday.

Just behind, Fiorentina (4th) and Genoa (5th), who also aspire to a place in Champions, visit two teams from the bottom of the table, Reggina (20th and last) and Siena (15th), respectively.
